My Project

This year marks a big adventure for myself and my students. I am moving from the youngest learners to the biggest learners at the elementary level. It is a big year for these students as it marks their final adventure at the elementary level. While I am excited about this journey, it also means I am starting over in many ways. The classroom supplies I have collected over the years are geared towards the youngest learners, leaving me without many of the everyday essentials for a successful year in 5th grade.

Sometimes the smallest supplies makes the biggest difference because a single pencil can spark an idea, a highlighter can unlock understanding, and a sticky note can give a student the confidence to share their thinking.

My 5th grade students will rely on pencils, sticky notes, pens, highlighters everyday to annotate texts, organize their thinking, and collaborate with their peers. These aren't just supplies but tools to help these students become successful readers and thinkers.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
