My Students

The students I choose to teach are special to me because they are each so different. Third graders have developed beautiful and fun personalities that are wonderful to teach.

More than half of my class are considered ESL (English as a second language) and many are ED (economically disadvantaged).

This by no means makes them less than. Instead, they have a deeper love for school, but do however have specific needs in education. They require more attention and differentiation that I simply love to give. They need to be taught in multiple ways, and have opportunities to practice that learning in calm, relaxing, and fun ways.

My Project

Many of my students do not have the supplies necessary for school. These supplies will enable them to learn and apply their learning in class. These basic necessities are a must for learning to take place, and keep the students prepared each day.

Pencils and markers allow for students to take notes, practice, and apply their learning on paper.

Without these, they do not have the opportunity as others.

Scissors and glue sticks allow for practice and note taking to be more engaging. Instead of boring worksheets, or boring notes, scissors and glue allow me to provide more fun and interactive activities for class. Without these I am forced to give less engaging, and fun things for students to complete. This can lead to them becoming more unfocused and learn less than their potential.
