This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My scholars are bight, unique and motivated learners. They attend our Philadelphia public Title I school. When I see my students excited to learn it drives my passion for education. Each year with a new group of children is a journey, this year we are eager to add science extension activities and more technology to our classroom in order to build our science skills and STEM knowledge!
My students are truly some of the most inquisitive and intrinsically motivated learners I have ever had the pleasure of teaching.
All of our students live below the poverty line and are reading below grade level. We have many students in foster homes and some in shelters. Please help me provide the tools they need to close the achievement and increase reading levels.
Thank you for considering our project!
My Project
You wouldn't believe what a huge role a simple classroom staple like a pencil or marker makes in a young learners education. When children don't have sharp pencils and markers the daily flow of the classroom is impacted and learning is disrupted.
Pencils may seem like a basic staple in any classroom, but in our high needs environment many students are living in poverty, loosing sleep at night because they're hungry and coming to school cold without a jacket.
These young scholars aren't always prepared with pencils and markers.
Please help me provide these basic items to my students in order to help them grow and achieve!
