Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a sixth-grade teacher in an inner-city school, it is hard to find materials to which my students can relate. Therefore, I must turn to external sources outside of the school, so that I may gain my students' attention.

My students are phenomenal!

They are extremely hard-working individuals who have goals to achieve! Most students in our school come from low-income households. Every day, my students are eager to learn. This fires me up because I know I can make a difference in their lives. I want my students to love science by implementing various resources during class.

I am requesting pencils, and markers to provide my students with the resources they need to be successful. They can easily work together, helping each other gain a better understanding of a math or language arts skill. Students can also erase and fix mistakes easily. They feel as though they are more in control of their own learning, making them more confident, self-regulated learners. They will be motivated to learn and not worry about not having a pencil that is sharpened. Students will be excited to learn because they have the necessary tools they need to be successful and lifelong learners.

With your help, my students will once again be learning with enthusiasm as they use the pencils and markers.
