This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the pleasure of teaching 24 super smart first graders. Unfortunately, my students come from a high-poverty, low socioeconomic community. Ninety-nine percent of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Despite these circumstances, my children are full of spirit and have positive attitudes about learning. They absolutely love coming to school.
These first graders come in each morning with hugs and big smiles on their faces.
They are eager to learn and love for me to teach them new things. I want to make their learning experiences as meaningful and fun as possible.
My Project
With the end of the year approaching, my students are running very low on pencils, and we are completely out of printer ink. My students can't afford school supplies, so I do my best to try and get them what they need. First graders have a hard time keeping up with pencils, and it seems their lead breaks frequently.
Our district only allows us to make a few copies a week, so we are constantly having to purchase printer ink if we want are students to have their own copies.
My students need pencils and we need printer ink. Please consider a donation to our project.
