We are a Title 1 school in a rural town in Oklahoma with a high poverty rate and diverse ethnic backgrounds. Over 75% of the student population is from low-income families and have limited access to supplies and resources. These limitations don't hold them back from working hard and achieving all they can.
My students are active, curious, and love learning.
They accept every challenge and tackle it with enthusiasm. Although they love learning, they don not all learn in the same way. It takes a variety of methods to reach all of then in the way they learn best.
In our classroom, we celebrate success daily, both big and small. We believe that every challenge helps us grow and that we can learn from our failures. I believe it is my responsibility as their teacher to give them the tools and skills necessary for success in a constantly changing world.
My Project
Having a pencil sharpener that is functioning helps us during the day by not having to go next door to a neighboring classroom. Having the Ticonderoga pencils will be nice because they are of a better quality and will help with the continuous breaking of the lower quality pencils.
These materials will help us in our everyday routines.
Being able to print on bright papers make the lessons more appealing to my students.
The dry erase pocket sleeves will cut down on the many copies that would normally have to be made.
These items will help my students so much and we would all greatly appreciate your donation!
