My students need quality pencil sharpeners that they can use during instruction, extra pencils, erasers, pouches, and somewhere to store it all! These tools will help us organize our learning environment, and control our pencil consumption.
Our class is full of colorful, talented and caring students, many of whom have challenges when it comes to academic learning. However, the one thing we can all agree on is our love for hands-on, exploratory learning.
We are one class in a small TK-5, collaborative school that works hard to make learning more fun and engaging for our students.
My students love to ask questions. They have a true desire to discover how things work and why.
They crave to explore their environment, and during these times you really see their passion for learning shine.
My Project
We are in need of an electric pencil sharpener that can handle colored pencils, erasers, pouches, and pencils! This year we are trying a new method to help try to encourage students to keep and take care of their supplies. Each student will get a pencil pouch, and eight pencils with an eraser. They will get rewarded for turning in eight intact pencils at the end of the week.
Something happens in fourth grade that creates an abyss, where pencils just seem to disappear!
These supplies will make a huge difference to the productivity of my students, as they will have the basic materials needed to get their work done.
