Help me give my students tools and strategies to manage their emotions, reduce stress, and build self-regulation skills so they can succeed both academically and socially.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I absolutely love the resilience, kindness, and spirit of the students. Our students come to school each day eager to learn and grow, even when they face challenges both in and out of the classroom. They are creative, hardworking, and full of potential — and they deserve every tool we can give them to support their success.
The calm down kits will provide students with essential tools to manage big emotions, regain focus, and build critical self-regulation skills.
Items like fidget tools, breathing cards, stress balls, and visual supports will give students strategies to calm themselves in moments of frustration, anxiety, or overwhelm. Instead of feeling stuck or discouraged, they will be empowered to take control of their emotions and return to learning more quickly and confidently.
By helping our students strengthen their emotional regulation skills, we are not only supporting their immediate well-being but also building a foundation for lifelong success inside and outside the classroom. With a little encouragement and the right tools, our students can accomplish amazing things.
