Our school is all about SEL and teaching our students to identify their emotions and regulate those emotions in a positive way. We have taught the Zones of Regulation curriculum school wide. Our students are able to tell the teachers how they feel, what zone they are in and what tools they need to get back to the green zone. Each classroom has a calm down kit available for students to use if they are in the blue, yellow, or red zone. Each calm down kit has items to help students get back to the green zone and get ready to learn. This program has helped decrease behaviors in the classrooms. We need to refill the calm down kits with new items students can use. Please help our Kate Smith Cougars keep calm and make good choices!
