An essential part of preschool is Nap Time or as I call it, Quiet Time. Our students need individual peace and quiet that allows their bodies to restart and refresh from busy morning work and play. Nap times give students rest and schedule for their bodies to feel calm after high engagement through classroom activities and recess.
The items requested are sensory tents and weighted blankets that will help our students relax and feel at peace during Quiet Time/Nap Time.
These items could also have a double purpose. When our student's feel overwhelmed throughout the day they have a safe place or item to hold that'll help them self-regulate. Safe spaces have been key and standard in classrooms across the District. Our early learners will learn how to use a safe space like a sensory tent like they would in their classrooms in the future.
