My current classroom does not have a reading or literary corner and it is in dire need of one. The items on this list range from books, a rug, seats, and a bookshelf. I highlight the contents of the books chosen as they are reflective of my goal to have a culturally responsive classroom. I want my students to feel and see themselves in the books they read. These books aim to inspire, engage the imagination, and capture the students into being avid readers. The books in this reading corner will help enhance the experience my students need in order to further engage them in their literacy needs. I aspire to create a library that captures student interests from fiction to non-fiction and with a range of subjects from literature to science.
