My students need basketballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, an air pump, cones, and all-purpose folding soccer goals. The school has very, very few resources as far as P.E. equipment for the students.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Hello, this will be my first year working with my middle school, which serves 419 students in grades 6-8. Due to the lack of Physical Education equipment, the students have low morale and expectations towards the Health and Physical Education curriculum. I understand that as the new Physical Education teacher, it is my job to adjust the classroom instruction and provide the students with differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners. With forward progress for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year, I hope that the students will gain trust with me, and be willing to come on board as we step into the new era of P.E.
My Project
My students need basketballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, air pump, cones, and all purpose folding soccer goals. The school has very, very, little resources as far as P.E. equipment for the students. As a former student, my favorite class was Physical Education. I want to inspire the students by introducing them to the fun uptempo lesson plans that are provided with the Spark Curriculum. In order for this to be a success, the SPARK lesson plans provide instructions and pictures, but various equipment is needed for the students to accomplish objectives that are aligned with each P.E. unit. With this project, the students could finally receive equipment that is needed, but also learn to respect the equipment,so that it can continuously be used for years to come. I look forward to being involved with the students and providing them the opportunity to enjoy a fun, exciting, and interactive Physical Education class.
