Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a wonderful group of learners who come from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. While my students come from hard-working families, some of them are lacking the necessities to be successful in today's world. Many of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch, but all of them love to learn. My students are creative, independent thinkers who are maturing and gaining a much-needed strong foundation for middle school. My goal is for each student to improve as much as possible and build the most solid foundation possible for their future educations.
My Project
We need to have more fun during our physical education time while gaining much-needed skills and meeting P.E. standards.
I am asking for 3 types of balls - tennis balls, red playground balls, and basketballs.
My students will use the tennis balls to practice basic catching and throwing skills while working on hand-eye coordination. We will use the basketballs to practice basic dribbling and shooting skills in groups and through games. Good old-fashioned red playground balls will be used to play games and also to practice bouncing and passing skills.
We currently lack enough of these types of balls in order to do group activities with them and play relay type games which will add fun to our daily physical education lessons. Having a tennis, playground, and basketballs will allow me to differentiate my physical education instruction and provide a wide variety of interesting, engaging and fun activities that build much-needed skills.
