The tennis balls for our chairs have been so helpful in quieting the loud screeching noises made whenever chairs were moved. Moving seats and chairs are so much easier now. Thank you for cushies for their tushies! The kids love sitting on them on the floor while reading, working, or exploring activities. They also enjoy using the cushions on their student seats and also the rockers to make a comfortable flexible seating spot. This encourages the students to complete their work, and make good choices while working so they can select flexible seating. We have read the books in 3 different groups based on their level. We have taken turns reading aloud, listened to the books through audiobooks and listened to others reading aloud. \r\nI am so happy that the students do not have to sit down on regular school chairs to read. They can lay down on the floor if they want or make themselves comfortable on the special seats. This is helping them get more excited about reading! \r\nThe students are even asking when we will get new books to continue our book club together! They earn the stickers for reading with the teacher, completing assignments, for writing stories, good behavior, and improving in math and reading assignments. My students were so excited to receive the new materials. Each time we opened another box, they screamed with excitement. We added the materials to our STEAM station and the kids were excited to try building with the KEVA planks, hashtag blocks, popsicle sticks, chenille stems and magnetic tiles. \r\n One of the activities they attempted was to build the tallest tower with the materials provided. Another activity was to build a roadway/trail for a car, and they also had to build a garage to park their car in. These activities motivated the students and encouraged them to work together and use their imaginations.
