Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a title one school in Utah and all receive free or reduced price lunch and breakfast. They attend a typical inner city school. Most face serious obstacles before they even walk through the doors in the morning. Our goal is to make our school a safe and nurturing environment.

My Project

All of the equipment that I am requesting will help students social-emotionally. The equipment will help with promoting peer interactions, cooperative play, and coming to understanding of new games and rules. It will also help promote physical exercise and healthy ways to stay active for the time period they have in PE class. There are some items I am requesting that will also help promote academic learning, like lawn yahtzee and dominoes, which promotes math and thinking skills.

Most of the students I teach, have never heard of or have tried most of the equipment I am requesting.

Some of the items would replace faulty or damaged items. My students and I would be most gracious for anything new. Thank you!
