Help me give my students PBIS Starbuck's Gift Cards to reward good attitudes, kindness, and classroom achievement. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) help to establish incentives and opportunities that create a classroom environment focused on respect.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing young teenagers! Most of these students reside in a poor, urban area that is grossly underfunded and, in some areas, lacking even the most basic of needs. Although many of them come from tough neighborhoods and lifestyles, they are resilient, smart, and full of life.
They are self-directed learners who yearn to know more about their past so they can change their future.
They are inquisitive, creative and thrive on learning new things. They have changed my world perhaps more than I have changed theirs. They will be the historians of the future; making their mark on society and changing the world for the better.
My Project
I am requesting PBIS rewards for students. Unfortunately, there is no money in our school budget to purchase these items, so we rely heavily on donated items. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.
Schools that have implemented school-wide PBIS have reported improved school climate, improved student achievement, reduced suspension and referral rates, increased attendance, and increased family participation.
My students need incentives right now that reinforce positive behavior. A donation to this project will help keep our students engaged and reinforce positive behavior.
