My Project

My first graders walk into our classroom every day eager to learn, full of curiosity, kindness, and excitement. They love listening to stories, working together, and celebrating one another's successes. I strive to create a classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to take risks as they learn to read, write, and grow.**

Our classroom library is one of the most loved spaces in the room, but it is missing comfortable seating and organized storage.

The Carolina 4-Section Bench Cubby will transform this area into a cozy reading nook where students can curl up with a favorite book, read with a partner, or enjoy independent reading in a space that feels welcoming and calm. The built-in storage will keep books, reading buddies, and classroom materials neatly organized, helping students develop independence and responsibility as they learn to care for their classroom.

The matching cushions will provide a comfortable place for children to sit, making reading time even more inviting. Research shows that students thrive in learning environments where they feel comfortable and connected, and these resources will help create a classroom that truly feels like home. My goal is to foster a lifelong love of reading, and this cozy space will encourage students to choose books, spend more time reading, and build confidence as young readers.

Your generosity will provide my students with more than furniture. It will create a welcoming community space where imagination grows, friendships are strengthened, and every child has a special place to discover the joy of reading.
