My Project

The Pawbucks store and BIR are vital to our school. The Pawbucks store is open to K-5 students every Thursday. Our high school students help and learn to contribute to our school and town community with encouraging academic success in future community members. These high school students are helping to highlight the younger grades' academic autonomy therefore solving future academic success in our school and career success in our community.

The program is ingeniously designed to serve a dual purpose.

For high school seniors it offers a platform to understand and participate actively in the welfare of their community. By mentoring and tutoring the elementary students, these seniors are not just imparting academic knowledge; they are learning valuable lessons in leadership, empathy, and social responsibility. This experience is preparing them to be proactive citizens who are aware of and involved in the needs and growth of their communities.

For the elementary students, the initiative is a beacon of hope and inspiration. Through one-on-one mentoring and tailored educational activities, these young minds are being encouraged to take charge of their learning journey. The seniors, as role models, demonstrate that academic success is achievable and worth striving for. This early introduction to academic autonomy aims to instill a lifelong love for learning, critical thinking, and problem solving skills in the young students.

By addressing the immediate academic challenges and laying a foundation for future community involvement, this senior-led initiative represents a holistic approach to education reform. It acknowledges that academic success and community engagement are intertwined, and by strengthening one, we uplift the other. This initiative is a testament to the power of collective action I creating a brighter future for all students and the community at large.
