My Project

Students need to see themselves in the curriculum. While I love the classics there are so many more contemporary novels that deal with issues that many of our students face.

Help our students get a new book so they can see themselves in the curriculum.

The Patron Saints of Nothing was written by a local author and is the only grade level appropriate novel to have a Filipino-American protagonist. Showing our students the world from different perspectives is an important part of learning and creating engaging curriculum. I want all students to feel seem and heard and this book allows a historically under represented group to be heard.

My students are wonderful people who want to learn. New and exciting books will help them do this. Please help me reach my goal so we can purchase a class set of books for my students.

Mr. Kornow will only receive his materials if this project is fully funded by August 21.
