Patching Together Our Clothing Study Experience!

Help me give my students spools, various iron on repair patches, sewing pattern, thimbles, thread, child-sized hangers and bobbins in order to patch together and enhance our young learners clothing study experience.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much," is a quote from Helen Keller.

My preschool students are amazing, energetic, fun, and lovely children who have the drive to learn.

They are like sponges absorbing all the information they can receive from me or anyone who presents to them. Many of my children are Spanish-speaking with English as a second language, and many of the parents are only Spanish-speaking.

The students truly enjoy learning with their friends. They are excited to be surrounded by a safe, healthy, comfortable, and educational learning environment. I am looking forward to embracing an amazing year with our young learners who are full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them every day. I feel honored to have the responsibility to teach these amazing preschoolers and hope to enrich their educational experience.

My Project

Learning how to sew is an important life skill every student should have, especially our young learners who are currently investigating, creating, collaborating, developing, exploring and engaging in our exciting clothing study.

Sewing a button on a shirt, patching a pair of jeans, patterning- sorting- matching- counting- comparing-measuring, lacing and sequencing with spools, patches, bobbins and thread are just a few examples of what can help students become more independent while establishing and attaining foundational preschool skills successfully.

During the month of February, we will be continuing our clothing study journey. Celebrating African American History month by incorporating a life skill such as sewing will allow students to gain important life skills while attaining imperative preschool skills.

We want to give our students' various opportunities to develop a love for learning. With your generous donation towards this project, the students will be able to excel and succeed as they continue to build fundamental preschool learning skills.
