My Students

Kindergartners have many ways of expressing themselves and one way is to "act it out". We are without a puppet theater that is user friendly and puppets that the children can use that haven't seen better days!!

The children that you will be helping out are energetic, enthusiastic, funny, imaginative, and creative.

Our school is one that fosters this uniqueness in each and everyone of its children. We are proud to live in Iowa and even prouder that we get the opportunity to express ourselves in many different ways!!

My Project

We are requesting a puppet theater and puppets for our classroom. These puppets will assist us in retelling and sequencing stories that we read in our classroom on a daily basis. The puppet theater itself is one that has many uses--a theater, a store, and even a restaurant. The theater is light weight which makes it easy for the children to manipulate and move within the classroom.

The need for these materials in our classroom is very important.

We need to give children the opportunities to express themselves and this is one very easy way for them to do that. Through the puppets, each of my students (Special Needs, ELL, ELP) will be able to utilize tools that will assist them in skills that at times can be challenging.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
