Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach science and social studies to three classes of third grade students. They are such little sponges and love to do projects. In the past, I have implemented Passion Projects, where students get to work on a project of their choice.

They research, create and present their work on the topic of their choice.

It is important for students to have access to a computer to do these projects. However, our computers are really being used for intervention and testing. I would like to have six iPads available for students to do research, type reports, and create Prezi PowerPoints. I had this resource available at a different school that I worked at in the past, and the students really excelled. Please, help me bring technology to my class. Thank you so much!

My Project

Students choose topics related to what we are currently studying in science and social studies. They research their topic and create a project such as a poster, a diorama, a PowerPoint, a Prezi, or a video. Then they present what they learned and show off their project to the class.

Students need the iPads to do the research, make PowerPoints, make a Prezi, or make a video.

Each student works on their own pace and at their own level. This is differentiation at its finest. All students are able to excel and they develop a strong love of learning.
