Help me give my students the gift of music during their Physical Education class! The PartyBox 300 will help over 300 students experience PE class the way it should be!!
The high school I work at is one the most diverse in the state of Idaho. Nestled on the Boise Bench, Borah High School serves a large refugee population who come from all over the world, with a large majority coming from different parts of Africa. Most of the students who attend Borah come from blue collar hard working families. I honestly think I have the best job in the world and love coming to work everyday teaching my awesome students how much fun and beneficial living a physically active lifestyle can be!
My Project
I am requesting the JBL Party Box 300 to assist my students with participating in Physical Education class. Adding music to most Physical Education activities greatly assist in that student's experience.
There are many units/lessons that I want to implement at Borah High School where music is a necessity, i.e.
Rhythms, Dance, etc. Additionally, each lesson within a unit has 4 parts: An Intro Activity, a "Fitness" Activity, the Lesson Focus, and a Game. Music can be used to enhance each part of the 4 part lesson. For example, for our "Fitness" activity, students perform an activity to music for 30 seconds followed by teacher instruction for 30 seconds. Is music absolutely critical? No of course not, but I have found that it definitely enhances the students' experience and can help create positive associations with physical activity. Think about when you work out..having an iPod can help enhance your feelings about your workout/ motivate you, right???
Why the Party Box 300 and not a smaller, less expensive bluetooth speaker? Simply, the smaller ones are not as loud. Whether my classes are indoors in our gymnasium or outside on our football field the Party Box 300 will get the job done!
