My Students

AP American Government students have the amazing opportunity to experience practical application of their learning through research and interviews in Washington, D.C. Parker Washington Seminar is an opportunity of a lifetime. Students research current issues in U.S. government and politics and construct historical background and apply it to contemporary contexts. Students travel to Washington, D.C. to investigate questions at the center of our government.

The goal of this project is to sponsor scholarship ($200) for students experiencing financial hardships.

The trip costs approximately $1200 per student and includes bus transportation, hotel accommodations, cultural events, dinners, and a DC Metro card. My goal is to make sure that any student, who is academically and socially prepared for the Parker Washington Seminar trip, be able to attend in spite of economic barriers his or her family may face.

Valuable life skills are learned through a variety of everyday tasks and expectations as students venture into the world of government and politics.
