Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My WWII walking gallery is meant to serve as a lesson in history and will help build research and writing skills. This project is included in our conflict unit, examining conflict from ancient times to modern times. My students will be working in small groups. This project is designed to engage students in more of the details of the war, as this is one of the most requested events of study my students request. In using color printed pictures, along with explanation sheets that are laminated for multiple classes will give my students the chance to explore more detail. They will have worksheets for each station that will include stations about new weapons, new medicines that were invented, even some of the music that was listened to during that time. Students will have worksheets that align with each station and have questions relating to each. I work at a Title 1 school and my students work with more engagement when they can be moving around the classroom and discussing topics with each other. Having a color printer will help make the station pictures and readings more engaging and help keep their interest longer. With the laminating machine, I can make sure that the printouts stay usable for a longer period of time as I teach 5 classes a. day. The expo-colored markers will help me when writing instructions on the whiteboard for my students, and let the students underline the information they need to complete the worksheets.
