Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school in California where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. A high percentage of our students come from homes where English is a second language. My students are hard-working and eager to learn. They are very active learners who look forward to a challenge and persevere through it all. They take our school motto to heart - "Anyone can be good, but awesome takes practice!" They come to school each day ready to learn and they always try their best.

My Project

My students love art! Each week they look forward to art time when they have the opportunity to express their feelings and develop their creative side through art.

The students need quality art paper to paint and create their original masterpieces on!

The paper we use now is plain construction paper that is not made to withstand water and paints. The students often spend much of their time and creativity on a project only to have the paper tear or warp if water or paint soaks through it. They need strong and sturdy paper that is specifically designed for art projects.

The students also need some basic supplies that are commonly used during art time and need to be replenished for future projects.
