This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from low income and high poverty neighborhoods. Every student in my school receives free or reduce lunch. They face challenges everyday at home and school, but they continue to persevere and achieve. Our school is teaching these students to be leaders in their classroom and their community.
These students are bright and creative and strive to learn more each day.
They come to school to learn but rarely have the basic materials needed to learn. With proper support and materials, these future leaders can achieve anything they set their minds to do.
My Project
The use of these materials is almost a daily activity in my classroom. Many students are unable to bring their own supplies to school and then face difficulties in doing their classwork or homework. Even though they love to learn, it is distracting for many of my students who have focusing issues and they miss important instruction form either myself or other students. By having this supplies, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether they will have the correct materials.
