My Students

I work with up to 40 students each day who each have specific special needs that need to be met based upon their individual education plans. My students are very intelligent but their learning targets must be met using different strategies and planning that students in a regular classroom setting would usually not require. Most of my students come from low-income families and have very little opportunity to acquire the materials needed to be successful outside of school. Many of the supplies used to create an individual learning experience for my students has been bought out of my own pocket. Funding for students with special needs and disabilities such as ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) can be very expensive and difficult to provide on my own.

My Project

Children in my school district work hard and strive to be the best students possible. In order to create the best learning environment and atmosphere for my special education students, paper and ink are a priority. Each of my students will be using the copy paper provided in order to allow me to print and keep up with their progress monitoring goals and objectives. My students learn by working toward their goals each day, whether it be writing simple letters and numbers or configuring an equation. Copy paper and ink are crucial materials needed in order to make growth possible for my students. The binders provided will be used as progress monitoring folders to hold the data recorded each day from each student. Copies will be created to put into each student binder that matches student goals and objectives to individual education plans. If funded, my special education students will benefit greatly from the copy paper, ink and binders.
