My Students

Paper and pencils are known to be basic tools for learning in a classroom.

My students and I are located in a high need area in New York.

My school is an elementary school with 551 students from K through grade 5. The student body includes 21% English Language Learners and 12% Special Education students. My students are bright and passionate about their education and culture. My school's principal, administrators, and teachers are dedicated towards educating and meeting every student's needs.

My Project

Due to the city's budget cuts, paper and pencils are no longer considered a basic need in the classroom but a luxury to have. Therefore I am requesting this simple, yet essential need. My students and I would be thankful if you could grant this necessity. With these tools I will be able to provide my students with activity sheets and unit exams. I will not have to worry about being unable to provide my students with the materials they need to enhance their education. Your contribution will provide students with paper and pencils for when they need them.

It saddens me that our country's economic crisis has teachers asking for someone to donate pencils and paper.

Unfortunately this is the reality for New York City teachers. I would really appreciate it if someone would be kind enough to provide my students with this void that regrettably exists. THANK YOU!
