This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Most of my students are from low-income homes.
This reason alone places them at risk for many failures and pitfalls in life unless they have the needed support to move beyond their current situation.
My position , as the Success Academy Coordinator, provides this needed support. Not only will this pantry serve the Success Academy, but will also provide needed nutrition for all of our high school students.
My Project
Panther Pantry will provide needed food and drink for my students. My students have come to school hungry and they snack during the day while working. Having your physical needs met comes before you can deal with anything else.
Donating to my project will not only help to improve and increase student attention but also increase academic achievement as they all work towards graduating from high school.
In my cart I have chosen bottled water, pizza, cookies, crackers, candy, granola bars and chips. These items will be supplemented with fresh fruit and salads to allow for a more balanced meal or snack.
