Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What I love about my students is their passion for reading. The community I serve is a low-income community. More than 90% of the students are Latino. The school library might be the only resource they have available.

Every school day they wait for me outside the library, their excitement for reading enlightens my day.

This motivates me to go out of my way to support teachers and students in their reading. All students love to read and look forward to exchanging their books every day.

My Project

The books that you purchase will directly impact students as they are the books students were unable to return during the pandemic. The books students check out directly reflect the books they want to read.

A student's book choice is their voice, and replacing the books lost during COVID will help restore voice to our students and grow our library.

We will use the books you purchase to support independent reading and student and family book clubs. We will continue to offer these books to students to check out and read at home during the pandemic and beyond. These books will continue to grow and nurture our students' passionate love of reading.
