This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are passionate, creative and have a love for learning. They are very culturally and ethnically diverse and these differences bring them together. They are so supportive of each other! My students come from some difficult backgrounds, but this never deters them from challenging themselves and striving to learn new skills.

They love hands on learning, and this is why their time in my Art class is so important and is something they look forward to every week.

I am always pushing them to try their best and they always deliver beautifully!

During COVID-19, these children were sent to remote learning and completely lost their hands-on learning in Art class. For so many students, this time is therapeutic for them to be able to express themselves in ways other than words. It is a time where they can escape their troubles of the world and express themselves. I want to be able to make up that time lost and provide them with the supplies they need to create amazing work.

My Project

Covid-19 has been really tricky to navigate with our Art supplies. We are trying to minimize the spread of germs, however, the students have to share almost all of their Art supplies during class, making that almost impossible.

With these new supplies, it will help to eliminate the spread of germs by allowing each student to have their own set of Markers/Paint Pens.

These will also help tremendously to allow students to check out supplies for at home learning when they cannot physically be at school. I believe these additional supplies will help to make my students much more successful, while keeping them healthy!
