My Students

I teach in a special needs school. It’s hard to describe my class as a whole because each student is extremely unique. I teach in a class of 6 young boys with autism, ages 13 to 20.

They are the most loving children I’ve worked with.

My students enjoy singing, dancing, photography, painting, reporting the news, and critiquing movies. They are excited to learn and try new things. Each student is so different and amazing! These wonderful children need your help.

My Project

My students are learning the skills to explore the artistic side of them. We encourage them to develop there own look. My students struggle to express themselves but when it comes to art they have a distinct way of expressing their thoughts and moods.

The paint brushes and painting easels will help the students create beautiful and unique pieces of art right in the classroom.

The eventual hopes are to make a product that they will be able to sell. The vocational programs in our school create students who are hardworking and prepared for the future. We are teaching them to explore different career options and that it takes perseverance to succeed.
