This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have 7 wonderful students on the Autism spectrum with varying artistic abilities. They use visualization and tactile experiences to engage in learning and have significant sensory needs. Students in the class have music therapy and adapted PE once a week. I want to integrate art therapy in the classroom since we don't have a program at our school.

Art therapy would be so beneficial to students at school by building self-assurance and controlling their emotions.

Becoming familiar with various art materials also helps children develop stronger fine and gross motor skills and allows them more flexibility in unfamiliar situations.
