This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a wide variety of children in my classroom. We are a Title I school in a military town, so many of our students come and go. As a resource teacher, I teach every child in the school so my classroom hosts children that are high achieving, special needs, and all the ones in between.
Our children have a wide range of family dynamics.
This variety means we have to reach further to help our kids succeed. Our aim is to make each student feel needed and give them the confidence to achieve their goals.
My Project
We have kindergarten through fifth grade exploring a variety of art mediums and tools in the art room. They love painting and we are in need of refills for our water colors and tempera paints!
With the variety in age, we need a variety of mediums in order for their skill level to grow.
Our younger students enjoy the tempera cakes, as they are more manageable. Our older students like the freedom of tempera paints, because they can mix and create more colors. All of our students love the watercolors and many of our projects use them.
Our students love to paint and have used up most of their supplies. These orders will refill not only their watercolor and tempera but will also purchase new cakes and trays for our younger students.
