My Students

My art students are a highly diverse group of individuals, ranging from very advanced to severely handicapped. The students also range in socioeconomic levels from the very privileged to extremely basic needs.

In my classroom, the students work very hard to master the best of their abilities the art of painting, sculpting, and drawing.

They love to learn about art, art history and practice new techniques. Some of my students cannot afford art supplies at home and do not have access to a fine art education outside of school.

My Project

My students are going to help me develop a new lesson idea called Painted Object. I am going to have students bring a object from home to transform to sculpture using paint. We need a lot of paint markers to start this project, as tempera paint and watercolors will not adhere to any surface other than paper. We need a medium, in addition to our acrylic paint supply that will stick to plastic, wood and pencil. Please help us to get creative, and express ourselves and think of readymade objects in a new way!
