This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are fantastic! This is my first year teaching for this district, and I am learning so much about different socioeconomic backgrounds.

I work with a team to teach the Plant Science Pathway in CTE.

Our class, Floral Design, can count as an art credit. My team and I want to give students the opportunity to learn color theory with a hands-on project.

We are requesting paint, paint brushes, and canvases to have the kids create images depicting differing color theories and harmonies. This project will give our students a chance to not only create art, but to demonstrate mastery of color harmonies. These students do not have the opportunity in any other part of our pathway to practice color theory with paint.

We are asking for primary colors so that students can create the secondary and tertiary colors and experience making those colors. Because this is an introductory course, we get to cover many different aspects of floral design and art theories. We get a large variety of students who would otherwise not get to experience agricultural science.
