My students live in an economically-disadvantaged area. The majority of our students receive free and reduced lunches. The absence of money in their home life doesn't dampen their desire to learn about new things, though.
In fine arts class, students get time to explore and enjoy playing with instruments, as well as create and learn about the visual arts.
The arts are an integral part of our elementary school, as we are a S.T.E.A.M. school that integrates science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math into every area of the school day. Students believe in the importance of the arts because we promote its importance as a staff.
My students' paint supply for this school year is dwindling, and we are hoping to find a way to continue using paint for the remainder of the year. There are still 5 months of school left this year, and hundreds of exciting projects to be made!
We are constantly creating and making in our fine arts class, and a fresh batch of paint (with pumps and storage) would help us continue becoming young artists for the remainder of the school year.
Pumps to use with the gallons of paint will help students use only the appropriate amount of paint for each project. This would help eliminate paint waste and make our product last longer.
The trays were are hoping to receive will allow students to keep all their paint supplies for their table in one place in the room. This will give students accountability to take care of and respect their supplies, as they will have to use the same supplies year round.
I want to provide every opportunity I can in our fine arts class for students to think outside the box and create without limitations. These new panting supplies would help us reach our goals.
