At this time in the year, motivation to complete work starts to decline. Students are looking forward to summer and start to forget that the school year isn't over. Through your support, I will continue to motivate and encourage my students to complete their work and grown their reading skills.
With your help, very student I support will have the opportunity to earn rewards for successfully completing their work.
Since I began offering rewards for their hard work, I have seen progress and effort increase dramatically. While I do have some rewards for my students already, the selection available to them is constantly decreasing. I have chosen prizes that I thought my students would be interested in and that would motivate them to do their best work. I also picked a few ways to help organize their new prizes in order to help them make their choices easier and faster in order to limit loss of time spent learning.
I work with students with a wide range of reading levels and abilities, including students who are learning the English language. Every day we work towards improving their reading skills in order to help them become better prepared for high school and their lives going forward. Working on reading skills in middle school can feel overwhelming, but knowing they are working towards a prize can help.
