Every morning, I walk into a classroom full of smiling students who are ready to take on the challenges of a new day! Despite teaching in a school that has a one hundred percent Title I free and reduced lunch rate, my students are determined to rise above their circumstances. It is my job, as a teacher, mentor, and friend, to help guide them in the right direction in an attempt to leave a lasting impact on the life of those who enter my classroom.
Our class motto is simple, "Learning is our SUPERPOWER!" In our classroom, each student is encouraged to find their inner superhero.
They are encouraged to investigate both their strengths and weaknesses to form their own unique identities. They are celebrated for their good choices, all their accomplishments, and who they are as a person. I believe in my students and the bright future that each one possesses.
My Project
Let's face it...worksheets don't work anymore! In order to keep students actively engaged in their learning, I am constantly seeking different ways for my students to practice concepts and demonstrate their learning. Students enjoy using dry erase paddles and markers to answer questions in every subject.
Students can use dry erase boards and markers to practice problems in math and answer questions in science, reading, and history.
What makes these paddle boards so special is that they hold the markers in the handle so that students have their materials in one place. In addition, these paddle boards allow teachers to insert papers as needed such as graph papers, number lines, and place value charts.
