Pad Around the Classroom and Engage with my Students

My students need an Ipad. They need my assistance while doing work on their chrome books and having an iPad will allow me to go around the classroom and give them the help they need.

My Students

I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best middle school students in the area! I have been teaching at my school for going on 13 years, and have seen the changes in the cliental of our students. We have more students who fall into the lower socio-economic level. Which makes it hard to complete work outside of the classroom. While many are driven and self-motivated to complete their work, there are several who struggle due to the on-line capacity of our Language Arts program. These kids want to do well, but are sometimes self conscience of their work.

In my classroom there is a lot of sharing of thoughts and ideas, sometimes this is whole group, sometimes it is with a partner, but every idea that is shared is important!

When my students have a hard time with a concept, it is my job to get them to think and to lead them to the mind-set that they are capable of coming up with an answer.

My Project

My district recently adopted a new curriculum that has students working on chrome books for their Language Arts curriculum. I can use the iPad to walk around the classroom and monitor where they are for the unit, give them needed help or guide them in answering a question.

Having an iPad that I can hold in one hand and mirror onto the TV while walking around the classroom will be an invaluable tool.

This will enable me to continue teaching while helping students that may need help. It will also allow me to confer with my students, work with small groups and still run the curriculum.
