I need professional books and resources to help guide my work in literacy and mathematics. These resources will help me to meet my students where they are and push them far beyond that.

I teach in a small, Title I school within a close-knit community. My students have big dreams and in many cases even bigger hurdles to overcome. During our time together, we strive to make leaps and bounds towards those goals.

My Project

Each text requested in this project has been chosen to help students overcome the disadvantages of living in poverty. By developing my own expertise in research-proven literacy and math strategies, I can help children deepen their understanding and see the connections of our content in the outside world. Sound instruction that includes meaning-making and an exploration of connections and generalizations will help my kids become problem-solvers.

By responding specifically to the cultural needs of my kids, I can develop meaningful relationships and promote a safe learning environment.

Together, we can overcome the odds and my students can push themselves to achieve their wildest dreams.
