Each text requested in this project has been chosen to help students overcome the disadvantages of living in poverty. By developing my own expertise in research-proven literacy and math strategies, I can help children deepen their understanding and see the connections of our content in the outside world. Sound instruction that includes meaning-making and an exploration of connections and generalizations will help my kids become problem-solvers. By responding specifically to the cultural needs of my kids, I can develop meaningful relationships and promote a safe learning environment. Together, we can overcome the odds and my students can push themselves to achieve their wildest dreams.
