Outfitted for the Future: Clothes for Graduation and Job Interviews

My Project

Help us organize our school’s free closet of professional clothing so students can feel confident at graduation and prepared for job interviews. At our high school in Pascagoula, Mississippi, many of our students are getting ready to take big steps—graduating, applying for jobs, and heading into the next chapter of their lives. But for some, not having the right clothes can be a real obstacle.

We’ve started a Graduation and Career Closet filled with gently used dresses, dress shirts, pants, ties, belts, and shoes that students can take if they need them.

Some use it to find something that meets the graduation dress code. Others need clothes for job interviews or career days. No one has to ask or explain; instead, they just come, take what they need, and feel a little more ready.

Right now, though, we don’t have a good way to store or display what we have. We’re asking for heavy-duty clothes racks and a shoe organizer so we can keep everything neat, easy to find, and looking like something students feel proud to choose from.
