I teach a Developmental Preschool class made up of 3 through 5 year-olds, blended with our Voluntary Pre-kindergarten students. Pre-k is such a diverse group of mixed abilities and interests. We are part of a larger community-based elementary school that celebrates inclusion. My classroom is about building skills and making progress towards developmental goals. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are learning to imitate sounds or hold a paintbrush.
My students love learning activities in the classroom and outside, as well as anything STEAM related!
In this class, we build a community around social-emotional standards and our common experiences. As my students make progress on their goals, they begin to try small chunks of the day with their typically developing peers. We celebrate small victories together each day.
My Project
My students love learning activities! They love listening to stories, playing music, watching reader theatres, field trips, school assemblies and picnics. They especially love when they can do their learning outside.
The outdoor seating mats will help me create an outside classroom for all these wonderful learning activities.
The multicolored seating mat has soft fabric on top and weather resistant backing. It is perfect for outdoor reading and play. The mat accommodates up the 6 students and having four would allow for creating groups, as well as allowing all to see. It is a durable, lightweight and convenient seating solution.
