Outdoor Learning Brings Back to the Classroom More Than Worms!
Help me give my students 20 outdoor leaf seats, 2 tunnels, 3 TPT resource cards, 5 giant outdoor flower chalkboards, beeswax crayons, watercolor paints, paper, and brushes, playdough, and a cart to hold the outdoor seats.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love the three asphalt-free spaces we have as part of our playground. They are filled with native plants and grasses, and the two bioswales in front of the school also help the city with water control when we have heavy rains. The children can find puddles, ladybugs, spiders, butterflies, rollie pollies, centipedes, ants, bees, beetles, and of course the infamous worms! They discover new things and create new games every time we go to the gardens.
For this project, I am requesting materials that can enrich our time in the garden, and bring back ideas that we can either recreate through art or add to our writing journals.
I am requesting cushions and a cart to store them in, so when it is wet the children can sit on the ground and not get wet. The tunnels will be used so we can burrow our way around the garden. We will hang the extra large flower chalkboards on our fence and draw and write while we are outside. With watercolors, we can paint what we see, and with playdough, we can sculpt what we see when we return indoors. With the TPT activity cards, I will be able to tap into a worldwide network of teachers who have created beautiful center materials. I can use these to create extension activities to the books we will be reading, that connect to our work and play in the gardens. All the while we will be making our literacy, science, and math connections stronger!
