This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My name is Melynie Blackshear and I am a Kindergarten Teacher at LES! I would first like to Thank you for taking a moment to read about our little school and the awesome things we’ve accomplished!

We rocked out our most recent Math and ELA assessments gaining on an average increase of 2 grade levels.

Our school won 1st, 2nd and 4th place in the District Spelling Bee! Our Basketball Team made it to the Championship game! Last month, our 1st grade class won First Place in our school-wide Science Fair and Kindergarten came in 2nd Place!

On May 22nd, 2024, we will host our annual Field Day experience, a fun outdoor learning environment, for all scholars! This is guaranteed to have a lasting impact on their personal development, such as, social awareness, skill building and responsible decision-making…just to name a few.

I am writing in hopes that you and/or your organization would be willing to partner with us. Your generosity would not only benefit our scholars but also contribute to the well-being of the community we serve.
