Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are learning Spanish as the target language other than English, but they cannot expand their language skills because my Spanish library has a low amount of read aloud and/or chapter books. My first graders get very excited when they read.

These books will help my student continue the love for reading and it will also help expand their vocabulary in Spanish.

Every Friday I do read aloud for my student and then they read independently or in a small group. To have new books will give the student the opportunity to read more, expand their knowledge, vocabulary and understanding of they target language (Spanish).

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
