My Project

I teach Math classes to Deaf, hard of hearing, and Deafblind High School students who use American Sign Language (ASL) as their primary language. Our school has old and outdated curriculum and my students better learn the new concepts when they actively participate in hands-on activities.

Our deaf/hard of hearing/deafblind students are internalized the new concepts through the direct experience.

The Teacher Pay Teachers resources are a fantastic way to educate our students because TPT resources offer many different hand-on activities developed by a variety of teachers. Many teachers have already created engaging, relevant, and student focused lessons. When we spend less time making PowerPoint and creating resources, we are able to spend more time with our students. Many of our students need one on one support and concepts put into ASL.

It can be a long-lasting impact on a student's mathematical knowledge and problem-solving skills and will support future success in math.
