Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are the most enthusiastic little people I have ever encountered. They show interest in every subject I have taught in my art class. They amaze me every day with their questions and curiosity about the art world. Their excitement about what they will learn for the day can be seen as they enter my classroom. Students immerse themselves in their creations and take pride in their projects. My students take the initiative to learn more and go beyond meeting project requirements. They turn assignments into extraordinary art pieces. It is an instant reward to see them growing as artists.
My Project
Art has many benefits. It helps physical and cognitive development. It allows students to be creative and have a voice. It also builds on their self-esteem. I want my students to have the opportunity to experience different art forms. I have found that some students enjoy drawing, while others lean towards sculpting. Overall, my students are eager to explore other mediums from what they have seen so far.
By providing clay, my students can extend their art beyond paper.
It will also cater to those students who have a greater interest in hand building. Offering another fun way to create art, and ultimately help my students gain from all the benefits of art.
